Heinemann Duty Free Shop

As part of the refurbishment of Sydney International Airport, Heinemann opened the largest standalone airport duty free store in the world. Creating a new global benchmark for Heinemann,the refurbishment was completed within tight timeframes and strict regulatory requirements.
The client wanted to create a unique and memorable airport shopping experience for patrons. To accommodate the constraints and challenges of working in a high security zone, the project was carried out in stages in day and night shifts and involved close corporation and coordination between all different stakeholders, including Heinemann, the architects, Sydney Airport Corporation (SACL), contractors and various authorities.
The project won Gold in the 2016 Sydney design awards, design100, in the Interior Design – Retail category and the MBA Award 2016.
