BSK delivers ‘Wildlife on Wheels’
At Taronga Western Plains Zoo, visitors can hire bikes or electric carts and enjoy a real Zoofari adventure, exploring the park on two wheels or four. An increased demand for this service led the client to ask BSK to project manage the demolition of the existing facility and design one better suited to its growing needs. A more prominent ticket booth also formed part of the brief.
Our challenge was to manage this project within a live environment, minimising the impact on both visitors and animals. We needed to keep the existing hire facility open until the new one was built, so staging, stakeholder management and communication were key.
Having previously worked in live environments within facilities housing live animals, we understood the operational requirements and knew how to overcome the challenges. (You might say we were a ‘natural selection’!)
