Putting the right bricks in place from the start
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is a new 30,000-square-foot visitor attraction in Hong Kong providing interactive and educational experiences for young and curious minds.
Working remotely with international clients is in BSK’s DNA, so we were thrilled to be approached to lead the early stages of this project.
Our initial tasks included devising the right project strategy, establishing the required budget and providing a project program that allowed the client to obtain internal Board approval.
Once approved, we needed to find key local consultants to complete the project. This entailed preparation of a Project Brief and Scope of Works, identification of possible local partners and running the tender process to determine, which consultants could best deliver the project as envisioned.
Our international experience and ability to draw on the knowledge of partner businesses across the world to better understand local requirements meant we were able to click all the building blocks together, right from the start. There were of course challenges to face, from remotely managing the scope of works, to familiarising ourselves with local customs and requirements and obtaining all relevant data necessary to accurately provide a realistic cost estimate and program… but we successfully completed all tasks and Hong Kong now boasts the ultimate indoor playground for kids and kids-at-heart.
